Our team is dedicated to the application of novel approaches to clear the path
to major programmes success.

Major programmes have an abysmal performance record in terms of cost, timelines, and outcomes. No improvement has taken place across the 70-year period for which reliable data exists. Performance problems plague both the public and private sectors alike and they are universal – across continents, countries, and industries. Nine out of ten major programmes have cost overruns; the same is true of schedule overruns and benefits shortfalls.

Just one in a thousand major programmes achieves its estimated budget, timeline, and outcomes. A wicked problem indeed! Conventional delivery approaches and techniques are not fit-for-purpose in the current global context characterised by extreme volatility, uncertainty, and complexity.

Two Roads is inspired by the crossroads facing major programmes:
The tried and trodden path with its relentless shortcomings
and the divergent one, dedicated to the application of novel approaches
to addressing the problems which hamper major programme success.

Our Story

Amid the Covid-19 pandemic, our partners arrived at the University of Oxford, encumbered by ‘the way we do things around here’ approach to major programme management, which has failed our teams and our stakeholders time and time again, and emboldened to find a better way.

Our MSc in Major Programme Management comprised of an intellectually rich programme which brought together globally renowned scholars, the latest research, and leading practitioners into an integrated learning environment.

Rich of this learning and our 5 decades of combined industry experience in major programme delivery, we decided to partner to create Two Roads Group to support major programme leaders and finally improve our industry’s performances.
